Goodbye 2023 and welcome 2024

My appetite for Italy

My friends, my loved ones,

Sorry for the slight delay, but I had a very busy year-end. I'd like to start by saying that I'm relieved 2023 is behind me. It has been one of the most challenging years of my life and I welcome 2024 for a fresh start.

I am happy to announce that Mamie is finally settled in her new apartment which, I think, is beautiful!

Our holiday season began with a nice invitation to dinner at Yves and Nadine's in Saint-Lambert on December 24th. They were kind enough to prepare German dishes in honor of Dieter. Each dish was well thought out and well executed. On the menu: oysters, blinis and caviar, smoked salmon, gravlax and potato salad. Everything was delicious! Thank you my loves!

I received for Christmas dinner but unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of everyone sitting at the table! We ate a great Chinese fondue and we were very happy to get together as a family and have a laugh.

Mamie and I continued to feast with a good meal at Bistro Rebelle in Saint-Lazare

and we ended the year accompanied by Madeleine and Raymond with another fondue to enjoy the leftovers!

Yesterday, January 1st 2024, Mamie and I finally decided to start the year on a high note by attending the beautiful show Hommage à Vienne, le concert du nouvel an at Place des Arts.

This year, I am not making any predictions for 2024 but only a promise to myself:

“Now that you're leaving behind a mountain of pain, worries and stress, take care of yourself, do everything you can to get back to your healthy body weight to enjoy life better, give yourself time to find your beloved horses and give yourself the pleasure of translating and writing again.”

My friends, my loved ones, I wish you a Happy New Year and I hope we will all have time to spend beautiful moments together.

Kisses,

Diane
